Sweet Deep Fried Treats…How to Deep Fry Oreos, Twinkies and Snickers Bars

I often tell my friends  that if you deep fry anything I will eat it. Old boots, roadkill…

So when I saw this recipe for deep frying these popular treats on cleverpinkpirate.com  I knew I had hit pay dirt.

Directions:

The basic recipe starts with funnel cake batter but I have heard that pancake batter (watered down) works as well. Use what you have on hand.

Funnel Cake Batter

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 1 3/4 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • dash of cinnamon

Whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Slowly whisk in the egg mixture, making sure all lumps are gone.

You Will Need:

  • Oreo cookies, Twinkies and Snikers Bars
  • Tongs
  • Large Skillet or Deep Fryer
  • Peanut or Vegtable Oil
  • Paper Towels (Lots of them!)

Directions:

(It’s really quite easy…)

  • Heat your oil to 370 degrees, making sure the temp stays constant
  • Coat treats with batter
  • Dip them in the oil for about 30 seconds, they should be golden brown when you take them out
  • You can pop them in 4-5 at a time once you are sure the oil is hot enough
  • Place on a paper towel to remove the excess oil
  • Garnish with icing sugar when they have cooled slightly

Now enjoy your heavenly morsels of deep fried deliciousness…
